Lochcarron Camanachd: About the Club

Founded in 1883, Lochcarron Camanachd is one of the oldest shinty clubs in Scotland. Today the club fields three teams: a senior team playing throughout the Highlands in Division One, a reserve team playing in Division Three and a youth team playing in local competitions.
The club has several international players capped for Scotland in the annual shinty-hurling match against Ireland. Individual members contribute to regional and national team management, committees of our governing body the Camanachd Association, and as fully qualified referees.
The club holds a fifty-year lease on its own ground at the Battery Park in Lochcarron (opposite the Bank of Scotland), complete with modern changing rooms, and takes entire responsibility for the upkeep of the park.
